Experienced Childminder / Family Assistant, Dublin 4 (30 Hours per Week)
We are a friendly, busy family living in Dublin 4, with three children aged 9, 7 and 5. We are looking for a warm, capable and experienced person to care for our children after school, prepare family meals and help keep our home running smoothly. This is a lovely opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys children, is confident managing a busy household, is a capable driver and is looking for a consistent, long-term position.
HOURS
- 30 hours per week in total
- 25 weekday hours, Monday to Friday (afternoons into early evening, some midday starts)
- Plus 5 hours of babysitting on a varying evening
- 30 paid hours per week
LOCATION: Dublin 4
PAY: €18-€20 gross per hour, depending on experience.
WITH THE CHILDREN
- School collections and driving to and from after-school activities
- Supervising and engaging with three children
- Helping with homework and afternoon routines
- Giving the children their dinner and supporting evening routines
- One evening of babysitting each week (approx. 5 hours)
AROUND THE HOME
- Preparing a simple, healthy family meal every weekday
- Laundry and ironing for the whole family
- Keeping the whole house tidy and organised
- Dedicated time for household tasks is built into the week
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL
- Hold a full clean driving licence and be a confident, experienced driver
- Have substantial experience caring for school age children, ideally siblings
- Be confident managing three children with a calm, warm and positive approach
- Be comfortable cooking simple, nutritious family meals
- Be happy to do laundry, ironing and whole-house tidying
- Be reliable, organised and proactive
- Have excellent references from previous families
- Have excellent English
- Experience with pets is a plus - we are thinking of getting a dog!
